Brikelle and Mom

All ready for church. This is the first Sunday we planned to make it all of the way through church. Our plan was succesful and Brikelle barely made a peep (except when she was hungry). Dad was also good during church.

Brikelle is almost one month old. She is growing fast. Kohen is starting to get used to her and gives her hugs and kisses. This is a picture of mom and Kohen giving her a bath. Brikelle is almost big enough for the big bath.
Since Kohen is a Mama's boy Brikelle better be a Daddy's girl. You probably can't read her shirt, but it says Daddy's girl. She is already off to a good start.

Nap Time

We don't get much sleep around here. So life was great when everyone decided to take a nap. Kohen has been waking up in middle of the night for the past couple of weeks and Brikelle is awake almost all night. The little sleep is all worth it because the kids are tons of fun.

Brikelle is Here

Brikelle Jade Pettit was born on September 15, 2008 at 1:26 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs 4 ozs and she was 19'6" long. We arrived at the hospital at 8:00 for our scheduled induction. Therefore, Shantel was only in labor for 5 1/2 hours. The doctor said that she would have gone on her own the same day anyway.

Brikelle is healthy and she is already eating well. Shantel and I know what we are doing now and we are not stressing out about all of the small stuff. We have had plenty of visitors and we are thankful for all of the support that we have received. Grandma Sharae and Grandpa Dave have done a great job watching Kohen. I don't think that Kohen will even want to come home.

Kohen has received Brikelle fairly well so far, but we don't think that he fully knows what is going on yet. He has basically ignored her except for a few kisses here and there. The real test will come when we go home to the real world.

Kohen's Second Birthday

Kohen recently turned two. We have some great parties and Kohen received a lot of presents. Some of Kohen's presents were a Handy Manny tool set, a Hummer fire truck, a police car, a basketball hoop, a tee ball set, roller skates, and clothes. He received many other toys, but unfortunately the list is too long.

Shantel and Shelbi "invested" in some blow-up toys. They purchased one bounce house and one slide. The toys aren't very big, but they are great for little kids. All of the kids had a great time and no one got hurt.

Kohen can now say how old he is. It is really funny. He says two in a low deep voice. The deep voice is a sign of his maturity.

Boating at Rockport

We made our second boating trip of the year to Rockport Reservoir. While Utah Lake is the most beautiful and peaceful lake in Utah, we were not disappointed in Rockport and we plan a return trip soon as there were not too many boats on the lake and the wind was low.

Brady and Kohen had a good time on the tube. Kohen was not scared and was dragging his hands Kohen loves the water. He has prospects of being a great boater and will probably surpass Brady on the wakeboard some day. Brady got in one wakeboard run, but is still rusty from last year. He is committed to quit being such a wimp and will start trying to do some tricks. Shantel is 7 months pregnant so she got a waiver on getting into the water. She will hone in on her wakeboarding and tubing skills next year.

Shantel's family came with us and they had a good time as well. Julia, Shantel's mom, and Derek went on the tube; Derek got up on the wakeboard on his first attempt; and Brittany, Shantel's sister, and her friend had a good time on the tube.

We love to boat and we plan on making a lot more trips this year. Summer is short so we need to get going.
